PDN THE SHOT PHOTO CONTEST RULES

ENTRY PERIOD

The Contest begins September 19, 2012, at 12:01 am Pacific Standard Time ("PST") and ends November 9, 2012, at 11:59 pm PST. All Entries must be received by the Entry Deadline. An additional fee of $10 is required for each entry received between 12:00 a.m. PDT on November 9, 2012, and 11:59 p.m. PDT on November 20, 2012.

WHO MAY ENTER

Employees of Sponsors and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or not related, and parent companies, affiliates and agents of Sponsors are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.

HOW TO ENTER

AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS

To enter electronically, please visit www.pdntheshot.com to register. Once the registration process has been completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Simply log onto the website and follow the online instructions to upload images from your computer. Images formatted in JPEG or TIFF measuring 1,000 pixels on their long dimension are preferred. Images may be color profiled in sRGB, Adobe-1998, or not color-managed. For more information on electronic submission guidelines see our FAQ.
The entries will be judged in accordance with the Judging Criteria, as defined below.

CONTEST PRIZES

THE POTENTIAL WINNERS ARE REQUIRED TO EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING: (1) AN AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY AND LIABILITY RELEASE; (2) WARRANTY OF OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE; (3) PUBLICITY RELEASE; AND (4) ANY OTHER AFFIDAVITS AND/OR RELEASES OR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED BY PRIZE SUPPLIER(S). UNLESS PROHIBITED BY LAW, THE POTENTIAL WINNERS MUST SIGN THESE THREE DOCUMENTS NO LATER THAN 15 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION IN ORDER FOR SPONSORS TO AWARD THE PRIZE. NONCOMPLIANCE OR RETURN OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION AS UNDELIVERABLE MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND, AT SPONSORS' DISCRETION, SELECTION OF AN ALTERNATE WINNER.

No prize transfer, assignment or substitution by winners permitted. If an offered prize is unavailable, Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
Some restrictions apply; and each such prize is subject to availability.

First place professional winners will receive a $100 gift card from Adorama.

First place amateur winners will receive a $50 gift card from Adorama.

All first-place winners will receive:

A DSLR camera
A $250 Ticketmaster gift certificate
A one year subscription to PDN^®

All winning images will also appear in an online gallery at www.pdnonline.com. People's Choice winner will be featured in the online gallery.

JUDGING

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in expressing the contest and category theme.
Winners will be selected in December.
Decisions of the Sponsors and Judges are final and binding.
Sponsors reserve the right not to award all prizes in the event an insufficient number of eligible entries meeting the minimum judging criteria are received, as determined by Sponsors and Judges in their sole discretion.

CONSENT AGREEMENT

Submitted materials will not be returned. PDN is not responsible for the loss or damage of any entry. Submission of an entry to the contest automatically constitutes the contestant's acceptance of all conditions set forth in the above rules. It also acknowledges the right of PDN and Photo District News to use the entry for publication on PDNonline.com and in exhibitions and promotions related to the PDN The Shot Photography Contest up to 24 months following the contest.

Entries not complying with the rules set forth above will be disqualified.

PDN is solely responsible for the administration of the contest, and sponsors are in no way affiliated with the contest or liable for any matters arising due to the contest.
